The contract involves the refurbishment and structural upgrade of a circa 1927 Main Block and Hall at Takapuna Grammar School. We have also taken on a second contract for the refurbishment of the N Block. In the main block there has been significant structural steel frames added to the building along with concrete beam remediation of the existing structure. The façade work includes historical building methods including reforming brick cavities and lead flashings while reusing the existing bricks to ensure the historical look of the façade is kept. New litecrete precast panels have been installed to match the look of the existing parapets. The existing steel windows have been removed and refurbished with double glazing to ensure the weathertightness of the building.
